One of the best ways to find a good restaurant is to trust your instinct and go explore. An old raft guides tale was that Durango had more restaurants per capita then San Francisco and Main Ave is home to many of those restaurants
Durango is home to over 200 restaurants and many value featuring locally grown foods
All the restaurants in Durango are good. We suggest parking downtown and letting yourself find your favorite restaurants. We’ve had the best luck by sticking with the locals favorites that are in the low to moderate price range. If you are looking for high-end restaurants, a day trip to Telluride may worth the trip. The assets in Durango are the free outdoor opportunities and the business that get Durango, know they don’t have to charge a lot for their services. Durango often has the illusion of being a high volume tourist town and the illusion can lead many locals to be frustrated and make less money then they thought they could. You will not regret spending less money in Durango, Colorado and tipping well
